Acid Red 92, English name acid red 92, its CAS number is 18472-87-2. Its molecular formula is C_{20} H_{5} Br_{4} Cl_{4} NaO_{5}, and its molecular weight is 809.66.
Acid Red 92 is red to dark reddish brown granules or powders, odorless. It is easily soluble in water and ethanol, orange-red, and the aqueous solution emits yellow-green fluorescence. It is soluble in glycerol and propylene glycol, and insoluble in oils and ether. It has poor light resistance, good heat resistance (105℃), stable under alkaline conditions, and precipitates when exposed to acid.
Acid Red 92 has the following main uses:
Orange-red pigment for coloring, which can be used in candies, cakes, fish cakes, sausages, confectionery products, biscuits, etc., but not suitable for beverages and hard candies with a pH value below 4.5. The dosage is generally 5-100 mg/kg.
Used in cosmetic pigments, its aluminum lake is mainly used in lipsticks, and can also be used in facial cosmetics, but not in eye cosmetics.
Biological dyes, adsorption indicators, fluorescent indicators, and mercury testing, etc.
