Carbazole CAS# 86-74-8

Carbazole is a colorless small-scale crystal, insoluble in water and inorganic acids, slightly soluble in ethanol, ether, acetone, and benzene (at high temperatures), soluble in chloroform, glacial acetic acid, carbon disulfide, pyridine, and furfural, etc., and can be detected under ultraviolet light. Strong fluorescence and prolonged phosphorescence.
Carbazole can be used to produce dyes, pigments, photoconductors, photosensitive materials, special inks, etc. The pigments produced with it include permanent violet RL, which is widely used in the coloring of automobile topcoats and high-temperature-resistant plastics. It has the advantages of high temperature resistance and UV resistance. The dyes produced with it, such as sulfide reduction blue RNX and Haichang blue, have excellent fastness indicators, especially the fastness to chlorine bleaching. The blue varieties include carbazole IDM, carbazole LR, carbazole LB, carbazole L3B, etc., and the black varieties include carbazole black D. Carbazole bisoxazine violet can also be produced, which is a blue-violet pigment used in coatings, printing inks, carbon paper, etc. Carbazole is used to produce sulfide reduction blue RNX, direct lightfast blue FFRL, FFGL, etc., and can also be used to manufacture leather, N-vinyl carbazole plastics, pesticides and insecticides tetranitrocarbazole, chlorinated carbazole, and UV-sensitive Photographic dry film, etc.
