SYBR(R) GREEN I NUCLEIC ACID GEL STAIN CAS#163795-75-3

SYBR Green I is a dye with a green excitation wavelength that binds to the minor groove region of the double helix of all dsDNA (double-stranded DNA). In the free state, it emits weak fluorescence, but once it binds to double-stranded DNA, the fluorescence is greatly enhanced.
Its main features include:
High sensitivity: at least 20pg DNA can be detected, which is 25-100 times more sensitive than EB (ethidium bromide) staining. High signal-to-noise ratio: strong sample fluorescence signal and low background signal. Simple operation: no decolorization or washing is required.
Wide range of applications: It can be applied to a variety of electrophoresis analyses, such as agarose gel, polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, pulsed electric field gel electrophoresis and capillary electrophoresis.
Easy to use: It has no inhibitory effect on enzymes commonly used in molecular biology (such as Taq enzyme, reverse transcriptase, endonuclease, T4 ligase, etc.).

SYBR(R) GREEN I NUCLEIC ACID GEL STAIN Usage And Synthesis
Uses SYBR? Green I nucleic acid gel stain has been used for real-time PCR quantification and flow cytometry.
Definition ChEBI: SYBR Green I is a cationic unsymmetrical cyanine dye used as a nucleic acid stain in molecular biology. SYBR Green I binds to double-stranded DNA.
General Description SYBR? Green I is an asymmetrical cyanine dye, which is used to detect nucleic acids. It consists of a N-alkylated benzothiazolium or benzoxazolium ring system, that is joined by a monomethine bridge to a pyridinium or quinolinium ring system. SYBR Green I binds to the minor groove of dsDNA and is excited at a wavelength of 480 nm. It has a peak fluorescence emission of 520 nm.
