Calcium carbonate CAS# 471-34-1

Calcium carbonate can be used as a pigment.
In paint, calcium carbonate can be used as a white pigment and plays a role as a skeleton. It is a physical pigment used in large quantities. Because of its white color, low price, fine particles and uniform dispersion in the paint, it is widely used in various paints. For example, in water-based paint, the addition of calcium carbonate can enhance the deposition and permeability of the primer on the base surface; adding heavy calcium carbonate or light calcium carbonate to thick paint can thicken and thicken the paint; in topcoat (i.e., topcoat), semi-gloss and matte paints often use the method of adding physical pigments to reduce gloss, and calcium carbonate is an ideal matting filler; calcium carbonate can also be added as an additive in colorful paints.
