Description of properties:
Appearance: green crystals with metallic luster or dark green crystalline powder. It is a hexamethyl derivative of para-carmine, containing a small amount of tetramethyl and pentamethyl derivatives. It has a special odor.
1g is soluble in 10ml ethanol, 15ml glycerol, soluble in water and chloroform, and the aqueous solution and ethanol solution are purple. It is almost insoluble in ether. The melting point is 205℃ (decomposition).
Use description:
Used as an acid-base indicator, pH 0.5 (green) ~ 2.0 (blue). Non-aqueous solution titration indicator.
Used for photometric determination of arsenic, gold, boron, iridium, silicon, tantalum, technetium, antimony and thallium, etc. Can be used as a biological stain.
